Taxi stands, ride-hailing pick-up zones, airport surcharges, and the MRT, in plain English.
AN INDEPENDENT FILE ON SINGAPORE GROUND TRANSPORT. NO ADS. NO AFFILIATE LINKS. NO BOOKING WIDGETS. JUST THE FILE.
Taxi stands, ride-hailing pick-up zones, airport surcharges, and the MRT, in plain English.
We ran every app side by side for thirty days, same routes, same hours. Here is what actually differs.
Flag-down, distance units, waiting time, peak surcharge, ERP pass-through. The whole formula, unpacked.
Midnight surcharges, Clarke Quay queues, the East Coast blind spot, and how to not get stranded in Chinatown at 03:00.
Who takes what, where it fails, and why some drivers still prefer cash at the end of a twelve-hour shift.
Which operators, which fleets, which booking flows. And the honest gap between policy and reality.
Demand multipliers, weather triggers, MRT breakdowns, and what the app does not show you on the fare screen.
What every acronym means, who issues it, what it costs, and why some drivers hold all three.

We started this because the existing taxi guides for Singapore are either thinly disguised affiliate funnels or dead Wikipedia stubs. Neither is useful if you are standing at Terminal 1 at 02:30 with a suitcase and a confused face.
We do not take ad money. We do not take affiliate kickbacks. We do not sell rides. We test everything ourselves, on our own dime, on the ground, and we write it down. If we get something wrong, tell us. We will fix it, credit you, and move on. The file is the file.
